Tooth whitening is a popular procedure today and it’s fairly easy to achieve a whiter, healthier look. According to some statistics, nearly 100% of people believe their smile has a direct impact on their social life, and almost 60% indicate that it can help them professionally. Teeth often dull or discolor over time due to staining agents, such as cigarettes and coffee.

As whitening treatments have become more common, dull and discolored teeth have become a thing of the past. There are a number of options to brighten your smile. For example, there are home remedies, over the counter whiteners and whitening toothpastes. If you’re considering any of these options, we encourage you to consult with us first because not all treatments on the market are good for your teeth or gums.

Some people are genetically predisposed to discoloration. Whatever the cause, a bright white smile looks great and improves self-confidence.

Tooth Whitening Treatments by Dr. Gina Ha & Associates

We offer two different types of tooth whitening treatments:

In Office Treatment

This treatment is applied in office and you will see immediate results upon completion of your visit. The visits typically take about an hour and you can expect to see a 5 to 7 shade difference in whiteness by the end of your treatment.

At Home Treatment

For at home treatments, we create upper and lower trays that match your bite precisely. The application kit comes with a gel that you can place in the trays at home to wear. You’ll need to wear the trays for several hours a day but can expect a 5 to 7 shade difference in colour within two to three weeks using this method.

At Dr. Gina Ha & Associates, we work with patients to determine the right treatment based on their history, tooth structure, and sensitivity. We also take into consideration any possible future needs for dental work. Because whitening treatments will not work on crowns or fillings, it’s important to schedule whitening prior to those treatments in order to match the colour exactly.
